Home Care Coordinator

My career started as a bartender in the hotel industry, then was promoted to assistant bar manager. Interestingly, my bartending career excelled in a way where it landed me on a passenger cruise ship traveling throughout the Caribbean and only ended when I emigrated to the United States in 1982. Thus, my career in Home Care began.
My passion for providing and assisting quality services led me to Visiting Nurse Service of New York, the parent company of Partners In Care, where I was employed as a Home Health Aide (HHA.) After completing two years of service, I was promoted to an HHA Supervisor. After a few years, my services in the healthcare industry were recognized as I was tasked as Assistant Administrative Manager in the Private Care Services Operations Department and then promoted to Manager a year later.

My eagerness to extend quality Home Care Services as well as to improve my entrepreneurial skillset led me to pursue another job opportunity in the private sector for one year. However, I returned to Partners In Care after a year and was welcomed back as the new Assistant Director of Private Care Services Operations.
People often ask why am I so strongly rooted in healthcare, and the answer is quite simple: my grandmother. This beacon of light who I am proud to call my grandmother was my tower of strength and was responsible for my childhood upbringing. She taught me the value of caring and sharing as well as compassion. Sadly, she passed away at the age of 77.

In 2015, while working as a personal assistant for a quadriplegic client through AIG insurance, my client passed away after a brief illness. This led me to post my resume on indeed.com which eventually led me to Westchester Family Care. I have been working at Westchester Family Care as a Home Care Scheduling Coordinator since January of 2016. Being at Westchester Family Care reminds me of the true nature of caring. We share one common goal: to provide the best quality services for our Clients and rewarding careers for our Caregivers.
