Edythe Parker

Welcome, Edythe Parker!

WFC is pleased to welcome Edythe Parker to our team. Edythe joined us in May 2022 as Home Care Coordinator and, with her WFC has gained a highly experienced, and healthcare-savvy professional.

As Home Care Scheduling, Edythe coordinates finding the right caregiver that will be most compatible with the client’s Plan of Care developed by the nursing team. She believes that HHAs have different working styles and that assessing each caregiver’s specific experience is vital to match the client’s circumstances and needs.

Let’s say client is bedbound … it takes a certain type of caregiver who’s already worked with clients in that condition to make the match just right.”

Edythe’s background and credentials are tailor-made for her current WFC scheduling supervisory role. She holds an Associate’s degree in HealthCare Management, which she earned by attending school at night and holding two professional positions. Family and education have been key drivers in her professional development.

Always On the Job

It’s an understatement to describe Edythe as a highly motivated self-starter. She has been both a tireless worker and a dedicated mother. In her first five years as a healthcare professional, she did double duty as a CNA working in a hospital and as an HHA at a home care agency. At the agency, she switched exclusively to scheduling and recruitment compliance.

I liked communicating with clients and finding the right caregiver for the right client.

She spent the next eight years at a Westchester home care agency as a CNA and HHA. During those eight years, she also worked part-time as a Registered Medical Assistant at a pediatric office.

Edyth subsequently moved onto an adult care facility. First, she was their Healthcare Supervisor in charge of scheduling, caregiver supervision, payroll, in-services, and facilities management. She then became the Medication Director, responsible for running the medication room, communicating with MDs, and the daily operations of drug disbursement.

Family is Everything

Edythe can trace her passion for healthcare back to a strong sense of family and care for her great-aunt while growing up in the South. There, she came to appreciate the balance between family and her lifelong dedication to genuinely helping people.

I’ve been involved in some form of healthcare since I can remember – it’s always been my thing. In the South, the culture of personally caring for our loved ones is everything. “I always wanted to be able to help people.

Her great-aunt had diabetes, and Edythe cared for her from a young age. Her grandfather was the Pastor of their Church, but her great-aunt couldn’t get up to go on Sundays.

I helped bathe her and helped with my aunt’s insulin needles for her diabetes.

Edythe lives in Yonkers now and has an adult daughter and son. She also has a granddaughter that she enjoys tremendously.

I’m glad I had my kids when I did. It’s so great to experience my two-year-old granddaughter while I’m young.

Hello, Westchester Family Care

Edythe feels the work environment at WFC is akin to having a family. And she has quickly come to appreciate the team effort to get things done correctly.

There is a common goal to provide the best care to our clients. It’s only been a few months but I’m really enjoying my co-workers. I know what needs to be done but when I need it, I get help from the team. Glenn, Andrea, Keisha, John and Melanie – all have been supportive and welcoming. Kenny, in particular, has been a great help.

I come into work smiling and it stays like that all day. It feels like family.

Welcome to the family, Edythe. We’re glad you’re here, too, and we appreciate your contribution to the team.
